Maldives

To enter the Maldives as a tourist, UAE residents must meet the following requirements:

• • A passport or travel document with a Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) and at least one month of validity.
  • A pre-paid hotel booking or proof of accommodation.
  • Sufficient funds to cover the intended stay in the Maldives.
  • Confirmed onward/return tickets to the home country or country of residence (not required for valid resident permit holders).
  • Entry facilities for the next destination (such as a visa, if applicable).
  • All travelers must complete and submit the Traveller Declaration form within 72 hours before their flight. The form must be submitted electronically.
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate, if applicable.

The maximum stay granted upon arrival is 30 days, unless otherwise agreed through reciprocal arrangements. However, the Maldives Immigration authorities have the discretion to grant any number of days up to a maximum of 30. The permitted stay duration will be stamped in the passport.

As a tourist, you cannot engage in any form of business, occupation, profession, or paid work while in the Maldives. Visitors traveling for purposes other than tourism—such as social visits, family visits, media, or business-related trips—are strongly advised to arrange for sponsorship before arrival (if applicable) to facilitate the entry process.

Overstaying beyond the permitted period is a punishable offense.
