Mauritius Visa

  1. A valid passport with an expiry date beyond the intended period of stay.
  2. A valid return or onward ticket to the country of origin or residence.
  3. A confirmed accommodation booking, such as a hotel reservation. If the traveler is being sponsored by a Mauritian citizen, evidence of sponsorship must be provided, including details such as their name, address, profession, relationship to the traveler, national identity card number, and telephone number.
  4. Sufficient funds to cover the stay (approximately US$100 per night).
  5. A pledge not to engage in any profit-making activities during the stay.
The following documents are required for a Mauritius visa application:
  • Duly filled and signed application form.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs.
  • A photocopy of the data pages of the traveler’s passport, along with a photocopy of the residence/re-entry visa (with a minimum of three months validity), if applicable.

Visa processing typically takes five working days once all relevant documents are submitted.

Citizens of most countries do not need a visa or can obtain a visa on arrival for tourism purposes in Mauritius.
